So a mobile game that claims to pay you to play is without a doubt a questionable one, at least in my opinion.
The question is:
Does Mistplay actually pay you to play? Or is it just another mobile app that promises you money only in words but earns you nothing?

How I Took Mistplay for a Test Ride
I test tons of mobile apps before recommending them to my readers.
Why?
Because I want you to stop wasting your time on useless mobile apps and invest only in what works.
So when I heard about Mistplay a while ago, I thought it would be an interesting app to take for a test ride.
Here’s how I did it, and how you can, too:
I downloaded the Mistplay app from Google Play Store, created a free account, changed a few settings as recommended by the app and I was ready to get started.
One thing that I did that’s particularly important was to set the app so that it even runs in the background. This way, I make it easy for Mistplay to track the amount of time I spent on the app, so they can reward me with points accordingly.
After completing the recommended settings, I downloaded one of the games recommended by Mistplay and played it for a while.
A game recommended for you is obviously going to be different, and that’s so mostly assuming you’ve customized your profile during the signup process.
The one thing that undeniably stands out about Mistplay is that there are just so many games to play. Whether you’re a fan of car races, bingo, strategy, or war games, you’ll find a genre just perfect for your taste.

The demand for mobile games is all time high in this tech-inspired generation. But it’s hard to know if a game is good enough for an audience unless via testing.
With games being added to the Google Play Store from time to time, it can be hard for thousands of potential gamers to notice the best games. Mistplay is a good platform to play mobile test/play mobile games and actually get paid for it. But it’s not for everyone.
First, you must be an Android phone user to use Mistplay. This platform is currently not available for iOS and we don’t know when the company plans to release a version for iPhones.
Second, you can’t become a member of Mistplay if you’re under 13 years of age. Young kids have to wait until they’re 13 or use the accounts of older kids to enjoy the mobile games on the platform.
Third, you can’t use this app if you live outside the United States, European Countries, and Canada. I’m sure it would have a huge audience if it were open to potential members all over the world.
The best part is that the app is free to download and you don’t need to pay anything to own an account. Not to mention that you earn rewards from the platform as soon as you start playing games.
When it comes to earning units that I can convert to money, I always opt to go for offers that earn the highest points. So it’s good to see the same thing on Mistplay.
As you browse the games to play, you’ll see the number of points you’ll earn if you choose to play that particular game. Some games attract more points than others, so choose games that award you many points if you want to accumulate many units fast.
Also note that how many points you earn will depend on how much time you spend playing games on the platform. The more time you spend, the more points your earn, and therefore the more money you’re likely to make.
How Does Mistplay Calculate Points and Earnings?
Mistplay uses 3 point systems to determine what to pay you. These are:
- Player Experience Points: This is based on the total time you spend playing a game, with the more time spent earning you more GXPs and therefore more units.
- Game Experience Points: Here is where Mistplay rewards you based on your gaming experience. They look at how many levels up you go in a game and how well you play that levels, and the higher you go the more bonus points you earn – not to mention you even get the opportunity to play features.
- Units: It’s the main point system in Mistplay, but it’s calculated last. They’re a combination of PXPs, GXPs, bonuses, and contests.
According to Mistplay, it’s these units that you’ll convert to currencies, which you can redeem for gift cards and other rewards.
I should also mention that Mistplay rewards you daily bonuses, which adds up to your overall units, and therefore more points.
Mistplay even allows you to build a following and engage in contests, which can earn you more points.
How Many Units Can I Accumulate on Mistplay?
There are no caps to earning point with Mistplay. It’s up to you to decide how much time you can dedicate to mobile gaming via the app and how many units you’d like to have in your account on any given month.
The rule of the game is simple:
If you want to earn more PXPs, GXPs, bonuses, and win more contests, you should invest more of your time playing.
I noticed that the more different games I played, for an extended period for each, the more points Mistplay added to my account, which is good for someone who’s a regular mobile gamer.
When Can I Get Paid?
Let me make one thing clear as far as your Mistplay payment is concerned:
You won’t get real cash sent to your PayPal account or in the form of a check.
You can only convert your units to currencies and them redeem the currencies for gift cards.
It takes about 2 days to get your gift card. This is usually sent to you via your email, so make sure the email address that you use during signup is valid.
The Pros of Mist Play
1. Free to Join
One of the things that I personally love about Mistplay is that it’s completely free to download and use. They won’t ask you for your credit card information, and, unlike many apps on Google Play Store, they don’t make the sign up process difficult.
In my eyes, Mistplay is an app that cares about getting to start playing and testing games right away. And there are no rules on when you should use the app and when you shouldn’t.
2. Tons of Free Games to Play
I wouldn’t put down an app that gives me access to tons of cool mobile games for one that doesn’t. And I’m sure I’m not the only one.
Fortunately, Mistplay gives you the kind of experience many apps and game developers are yet to replicate. That is, they give you access to dozens of games, in categories, so that you can choose what to play.
3. Ads Free Platform
Have you ever downloaded a game to your phone, played it for a few seconds, and then felt like it was a waste of time?
I have.
And mostly the culprit is the constant popup ads that flood the screen, leaving you with the worst user experience. I won’t mention examples in this review, but I’m sure you know exactly what I mean.
Mistplay is different. There are no popup ads to display on the screen, just games to play as you kill your free time.
4. Guaranteed Payment
Look:
I want to get paid for my time and effort. And if an app promises to pay to do something, they had better be telling the truth.
Or shouldn’t they?
I’m glad that even though Mistplay won’t pay you cash to your PayPal account, in the form of a check, or via direct deposit, they still pay you in the form of gift cards.

The Cons of Mistplay
1. Mistplay will ban your account if you use a VPN
If you’re someone who likes to remain anonymous as you use the internet, this gaming platform may not be for you. That’s because they’ll flag your account the moment they notice that you’re using a VPN.
2. Mistplay isn’t available to everyone
This is perhaps the worst thing about Mistplay so far, at least in my opinion.
Regional restrictions are bad for some products. I just don’t understand why an enthusiastic gamer in Vietnam or Africa won’t be able to use Mistplay to enjoy what the platform has to bring.
This isn’t fair.
3. Age Limit
Why place age limit on a game app in the age where even kids as young as 5 years old can enjoy the wonderful world of gaming?
I feel like Mistplay should have had age restriction on certain games and not on the entire platform.
Conclusion
I’m not a regular Mistplay user. But it’s a good platform to use if you love playing mobile games and wouldn’t mind getting a payment for it.
