Today I’ll show you how to write an outstanding About Me Page that boost conversion on your blog.

I’ll give you eight powerful tips that you can use right now to write a copy that stands out from the tons of options that you’ve already read so far.

To be clear, an About Me Page is one of the most important pages to add to your website or blog.

It contains information about who you’re, giving your audience a clear picture about what you do and why they should trust you as a brand, a service provider, or content creator.

But writing the About Me page isn’t as easy.

And let me be honest, it wasn’t easy for me at first. However, once I learned the strategy of building an outstanding About Me Page, every word I typed blended well together into something my audience loves to read.

When it comes to writing this page, the most powerful advice I can give you is that you should start with a hook, the same way you’ll do when writing your blog posts. Then, keep your readers glued to the page beyond the opening paragraph all through to the very last sentence.

You have to think outside the box and then write and re-write your draft before you can come up with a final copy for the page.

In this guide, I will show you how to write an About Me Page that stands out without trying so hard.

And it doesn’t matter if you’re completely new to blogging or you already have a page to rework. The tips that I have shared in this guide will take you from a completely blank page to a killer About Me Page.

What’s the Purpose of an About Me Page?

For me, the About Me age is a resource to market myself as a brand and establish my blog or website as an authority in my niche

What does this mean for you?

It means that the About Me Page is the only section of your blog that can best describe your expertise, experience, and goals.

It’s this page that tells your audience why you are in the blogging business in the first place and what you have in store for them.

How to Write About Me Page for Your Website or Blog

1. Do You Know Your Mission?

Before I start to write an about page for a new blog, I first think about why I picked a given niche and ask myself who I will be creating content for and why. And I see this converting a lot better than many general pages.

So before you even write the first word, understand the mission of your blog.

  • Are you looking forward to help someone solve a problem?
  • Are you interested in persuading people to buy a product?
  • Or do you simply want to inspire and entertain?

Determining your mission will make it easy for you to learn more about your audience so that you can   come up with a more comprehensive About Me Page for your blog in the shortest time possible.

2. Understand Your Readers’ Needs

Readers have expectations when they come to your site. And they want to be sure your blog is the right platform to access the information they need.

So while it’s important to talk about yourself in the About Me Page, you should write in a way that not only shows you recognize your audience needs but also have the right solution for them.

My About Me Page mostly answers the common questions that my readers are highly likely to ask. I talk about what my business is, why readers should trust me, the successful experiences I have had in my industry, and the solutions I intend to bring to the table.

You get the idea.

3. Build Trust with Your Readers

I tweaked my About Me Page to include a personal touch with my audience. And I can tell you for sure that the engagement after that has been nothing but quite exceptional.

By showing my competence, I’m able to convince my visitors to build confidence in my blog and trust in my content.

Say you run a business coaching or consultant website.

To convince your readers that they can build confidence in you and trust in your brand, include case studies, statistics, and testimonials as proof that you understand your industry and that you can deliver the best results.

If you’re just blogging about a certain topic, show your audience how much you are passionate about the niche and how much research you have. Also, don’t hesitate to include your personal experiences as a way to express your knowledge about a topic.

4. Use Heading and Subheading throughout the Page

I don’t just use a big wall of text to explain your About Me Page. I use headlines and subtitles to share my core mission, vision, and benefits.

You should do the same.

Doing so doesn’t just establish you as an authority. It also makes people trust you and look up to you for solutions to their problems.

And if they trust the About Me Page, they’ll no doubt build confidence in the content that you produce and publish on your blog.

5. You and Your Team

Do you have a team working with you? If so, they should appear on the About Me Page.

Whenever I create a site that will involve the skills of different persons, I often include their headshot and a small description about who they are and the role they play in running our business.

If you do the same, you will make it easy for your audience to know the team behind the performance of your business.  It also helps them to build confidence and a good relationship with your business.

6. Tell Your Audience How You Work

A good About Me Page should reveal how you work behind the scenes to make your project a success.

From what I’ve learned, the practice creates an approachable business model where clients understand how you work even before they engage with you.

For a blogger reviewing products, this means writing down a review process to help readers understand the steps that you take before you conclude that a certain product deserves a top rating.

7. Add Your Contact Information

I’ve included my contact information somewhere in my About Me Page.

Why?

Brands and individuals will want to reach out to me sometimes. So I want to make it easy for them to find a way to get in touch with me.

If you are a service provider who works or has worked with a number of brands, include your contact information below the section where you mention those brands.

This will go a long way to get you more contact from people who would be more interested in working with you.

8. Add a Subscription Form at the Bottom

Your About Me Page shouldn’t be just about your business and how you intend to help your audience solve their problem.

It’s also a space to create a personal touch and develop relationships with your readers. So offer them something a little extra special depending on your niche.

To do this, include a subscription form at the bottom of the page, collect emails form your audience, and at least develop that personal touch.

If the About Me Page bout me page is authentic and promising, your subscription will increase and you will develop a relationship with an audience that desires to hear from you.
