Promoting products, selling courses, and renting out ads space on your blog aren’t the only ways to make money blogging. Even selling your service online on your blog can turn out to be an active income earner for you.

In this guide, I’ll show you exactly how to sell your services online on your blog, so you can an additional income stream to your current monetization option.

Before we go any further in this guide, I’m assuming that you already have a blog that’s getting traffic. If you don’t have a blog yet, I recommend that you check my guide on how to start a blog this year and learn how to start, grow, and scale a blog that can make you five to six figures a month.

If you’re already growing your blog’s traffic by creating high quality content or your blog gets 10,000+ visitors a month, selling your services can be great way to make extra cash while building a rapport with your audience.

With that said, here’s how you can sell your services online on your blog:

1. Decide What Services You Want to Provide

I’ve written a guide on some of the most profitable niches in blogging. And from where I sit, I strongly believe that looking at your niche market is the best way to determine the kind of services you ca sell on your blog.

If you blog about working from home, for example, some of the services you can sell on your blog include:

  • SEO copywriting
  • Proofreading
  • Data entry
  • Virtual assistance

If you’re in the health and fitness niche, you can sell services such as:

  • One-on-one virtual health and fitness coaching
  • Fitness consulting

You get the idea.

The bottom line is that it helps to look at your niche to determine what services you can sell online to your potential audience.

2. Create a Sales Page for Every Service You Wish to Provide

You’ll need to create a sales page unique to every service you wish to provide.

A sales page is a page you create to convince people to buy your service. The page has to be descriptive, convincing, and so irresistible that your target can’t say “NO” to what you have to offer.

By making your page actionable, you can make your target audience believe that you have what they’re looking for, hence compelling them to buy.

You need to make your sales page as comprehensive as possible, but not too long or readers might find it boring to read.

If you can make your offer clear and concise, distill the benefits of your services into a few key points, and include key features above the fold, your target market will feel compelled to buy your service.

3. Make Your Pricing Structure Clear

I’m never going to buy a service online if the pricing isn’t clear. And if I’m being honest, I’m not the only one.

Customers need to know what they’re paying for and why.

So I suggest that you make your pricing structure as clear as possible if you truly want to make money by selling your services online on your blog.

4. Build Lasting Relationship with Customers

I’m assuming you want to sell your service on your blog for the long-term. Focus on retaining existing clients and, if your schedule can allow, onboard new clients.

More importantly, focus on building lasting relationship with existing and new customers, so you can stay in the business for a long time.

The best way to build relationships with your customers is to ask for their feedback. Doing so not only inspire loyalty, it also demonstrates that you care about them and want to improve your services so that you can serve them better.

Also, thanking your customers for trusting your service, making prompt payments, and leaving their feedback is a great way to retain them for the long term. If you think it will help, don’t hesitate to offer them discounts for their next purchase.

5. Protecting Your Online Reputation

I can’t stress enough how important it is to protect your reputation as you sell your services online on your blog. Doing so is a great way to build yourself as a brand, establish new connections with potential clients, and close more deals.

So:

If you want potential clients to trust you with their wallet, you have to prove to them that you’re a reliable and professional service provider who can deliver.

Here are a few things to keep in mind to build, retain, and protect your reputation online:

  • Deliver what customers ordered:  Don’t take the phrase “the client is always right” lightly. While you can suggest improvements to their orders, make sure you deliver according to their expectation.
  • Respect deadlines: Nothing pisses off clients more than delayed work. So respect their deadlines and they’ll stay longer in business with you.
  • Exceed their expectations: Give them what they want, but don’t hesitate to exceed their expectations. Going beyond your limits to exceed what they requested can win you more clients through referrals.
  • Attend to complaints: You’re not a perfect service provider. You make mistakes sometimes, and that’s okay. What’s not okay is to fail to respond to customers’ complaints because such failure can attract a negative reputation for your business.

Try your best to be consistent and show the best version of yourself. Clients will find you ideal to work with if you’re consistent, reliable, and overall helpful.

Conclusion

Selling your services online on your blog is an additional way to make money from a platform you’ve worked so hard to build. And as long as you can give your customers what they want by delivering services on time and exceeding their expectations, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t make more money.

To be clear:

You can sell as many services as you want on your blog. It’s your platform, so you don’t have to limit yourself in any way.

However, ensure you understand your limits for every service you advertise. That way, a potential client can know what you can and can’t do before placing an order.
