If you are wondering how to make money on Pinterest, then you are in the right place.

Pinterest has become a huge platform and is not only beneficial to people who are searching for content but also for people who want to make money out of it.

It has become a one-stop platform for people to search for information on several subjects such as DIY, fashion, traveling, motivation, and how-tos, among others.

If I want to learn anything fast, I usually search for information online- and millions of people are doing the same.

This means that there are several ways in which you can make money through Pinterest- and this is what I want to discuss in this article.

When I started using Pinterest, I did not know that I could make money. I thought it was just a platform to check out beautiful images and gather information.

With time, however, I learned different ways to make money through the platform.

Keep on reading to discover some of the ways that I use to make money on Pinterest.

How much money can you make on Pinterest?

I get this question a lot, and it is a valid one.

There is no limit to the amount of money that you can make on Pinterest. You could make $20, $100, and more per day.

What I love most about monetizing Pinterest is that you can determine the amount of money you can make.

The money you can make on Pinterest depends on the number of ways you monetize the platform and the effectiveness of your strategies.

1) Set up a Pinterest business account

To make money on Pinterest, you need to have a Pinterest business account.

Signing up for one is free, and you can do it here.

Once you have the account, go on to create your profile. Ensure to use searchable keywords so that readers can easily find you online.

Then, proceed to create Pinterest boards and pins. There are excellent tools such as Canva that can enable you to make appealing pins.

To optimize your Pinterest account, always use keywords relevant to the topic you will discuss in your article.

This helps to increase traffic to your blog. Also, invest in learning the best search engine optimization strategies for Pinterest.

2) Start a blog and drive traffic from Pinterest

There are several ways to make money on Pinterest that I will discuss in this article. But in my experience, blogging tops the list.

Most of the strategies to make money on Pinterest will require you to have a blog.

Pinterest has enabled bloggers like me to reach many people, and this is how I have been able to make money.

Here is how it works; when a reader searches for information such as “How to make money on Pinterest,” pins with the most relevant content will show up.

The reader will click on the pin, and they will be directed to a blog. In there, they can see sponsored ads and buy your products. And that’s how you make money by blogging on Pinterest.

Most people who visit my blog purchase my products and even affiliate products, and I can make a commission for every product they buy through my blog.

Before starting your blog, determine your niche. A niche refers to the market segment that you can specialize in.

You can blog about many things: finances, fitness, fashion, beauty and health, technology, business and economy, family and parenting, and so much more.

You need to select a specific field and focus on it. Determine the best based on your passion and interest. This helps you to provide relevant and valuable content.

Next, set up your blog and provide relevant and valuable content that readers will love.

3) Use Pinterest to drive traffic to your eCommerce site

Another way to make money on Pinterest is by using the platform to drive traffic to your e-commerce site.

If you are selling products on platforms like Etsy or Shopify, you will find that Pinterest is a powerful tool to direct massive traffic to your site.

To emphasize how powerful Pinterest has become, many people who shop online nowadays rely on it in several ways.

They use it to make informed purchasing decisions and to determine precisely where to buy a product.

They will choose to buy from you if you have what they are looking for and have provided relevant information that stimulates their interests in what you are selling.

To direct traffic to your eCommerce site, you need to create pins to promote your products, and while at it, remember to use relevant and searchable keywords.

To use the correct keywords, I usually assume that I am a customer who is searching for h

Besides investing in SEO, I also use promoted pins. These are similar to Facebook ads, whereby you spend a certain amount of money for your pin to be viewed by more people.

You can select a specific objective, and your pin will reach many people who will click on it and either learn about your business or buy from you.

You can learn more about doing ads on Pinterest here.

I would also recommend that you take a course or training on this. There is so much information online regarding driving traffic on your eCommerce site using Pinterest.

4) Do affiliate marketing

Another great way to make money on Pinterest is through affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing refers to a type of brand partnership whereby you sell a company’s product, and in return, you earn a commission.

Usually, you will be given an affiliate link, linking to a product that you want to promote for the company. Then you will be including the link in your blog posts and pins.

When a web visitor clicks on the link and buys the product, you will earn some commission.

To make money through affiliate marketing, you must learn the art of attracting huge traffics to your pins and blog and also have a strategic affiliate marketing program.

Here are some of the companies that offer affiliate marketing programs;

However, you need to observe the rules of doing affiliate marketing on Pinterest.

For instance, Pinterest requires that you do not shorten the affiliate link, which I did not know initially.

You need to show the whole link so that a reader can know where the link will take them.

I also discovered that Pinterest does not like sites that just sell to readers without benefiting them.

If you want to succeed in affiliate marketing using Pinterest, you should also focus on providing relevant content that is engaging and useful to the readers.

I would recommend that you read these Pinterest advertising guidelines to avoid making mistakes.

Most importantly, you must comply with the rules of the affiliate marketing programs. In the past, Amazon did not allow their affiliate links to be used on Pinterest.

But this ban was lifted, and marketers can fully use Pinterest to market Amazon products.

5) Do joint promotions with brands

Doing joint promotions has also come in handy for me when making money on Pinterest.

There are so many businesses today that are looking to build awareness about their brands and reach their potential customers.

Some are yet to know how to leverage on online platforms like Pinterest, and this is where you come in to help them achieve their marketing goals.

To do joint promotions, I usually approach companies who operate within my niche and propose that I help them make more sales online by using Pinterest.

In the beginning, it was difficult because my pitching strategy was not good, and I was also a beginner.

However, through consistency, I now have companies approaching me as compared to the past when it seemed like I was begging for such partnership.

Once I land a deal, I usually create pins to promote the company’s product. Your pins must contain relevant information as well as fulfill the selling objective.

If you want to promote products from a company selling shoes, you should come up with a title like this, “10 things to look out for when looking for a running shoe”.

This is an article that someone who desperately needs running shoes will read to gain some more insights. They will then head over to your client’s website, and if the shoe is of good quality and they love it, they will buy it.

Companies are selective on the person they hire to do Pinterest marketing for them. To attract clients, ensure to build a strong community on Pinterest.

6) Become a Pinterest virtual assistant

Being a virtual assistant on Pinterest is also another excellent way to make money on the platform.

Like I mentioned earlier, many companies are taking their businesses online, and they need aggressive marketing tactics.

Some have discovered how powerful Pinterest is when it comes to marketing. However, they do not have the skills or the time to do Pinterest marketing on their own.

They need help, and they outsource services from people who are experienced in this area.

As a virtual assistant, you will help them set up a business account and manage it. You will create pins and boards and create relevant content.

The good thing about being a virtual assistant is that you can work remotely from any convenient location.

You can also be a Pinterest virtual assistant for many companies at ago and increase your income.

7) Teach people about Pinterest

A lot of people are discovering that Pinterest is a resourceful tool not only to search for their favorite recipes but also to make money.

But they do not know how to go about this- and this is a gap that should focus on filling if you want to make money on Pinterest.

You can come up with a comprehensive course on how to make money on Pinterest. The course should contain detailed information on how Pinterest works and different ways of earning an extra income.

You can also come up with a YouTube channel whereby you will be providing relevant information about Pinterest.

The best way to attract more people to buy your course or training is by first ensuring that the information you provide is relevant and beneficial to them.

You can also market the course on social media platforms and do paid advertising as well.

8) Learn a skill from Pinterest and monetize it

I have been mentioning how important Pinterest has become to many people.

I have benefitted in several ways through Pinterest. Not only am I able to make money out of it, but I have acquired a lot of other skills that have made my life easier.

You can also learn a skill from Pinterest and monetize it. You could learn about hairdressing, fitness, fashion, coaching, baking, home décor, hiking, and so much more from this platform.

To get started, determine the area you want to focus on and invest your time learning about it. Then come up with a strategy to begin monetizing the skill; define your target audience, develop a business plan and a go-to-market strategy.

Every day, people are looking to gather new skills and buy products.

Therefore, you are guaranteed that if you provide quality services or products, there are people who will be willing to buy them.

Pinterest is entertaining, but you should also focus on learning.

These are some of the ways that I have discovered how to make money on Pinterest.

Making money on Pinterest requires you to gather the necessary skills first. Start by knowing how the platform works, then go ahead and establish a Pinterest business account.

I would also recommend that you identify your niche and target market. This enables you to stay focused and attract a community that perceives you as an expert in your field.

Building solid income streams on Pinterest takes time- this is not a get-rich-quick scheme. You have to put in the work of being an expert in your field and attracting the right audiences.
