Outwrite can help you to improve the quality of your blog posts by checking spelling mistakes and offering better rephrasing suggestions.

The tool doesn’t have a desktop app, but you can use it online as a web application. There’s also an extensions for Microsoft Word, Chrome, and Google Docs available for download.

As of now, only users with iOS devices can use the app on their phones. The premium plan is further divided into three namely Essential, Pro and teams.

  • The Pro plan costs $9.95 to $24.95 per month

Writer is both free and paid. You can get a feel of the premium features with the 14-day free trial, no credit card required. Then, if you like to upgrade, you’ll pay between $8.25 and $18 per month for the premium plans.

5. Grammarly

Grammarly provides users with appropriate words to express their messages well. The tool uses an advanced AI technology to provide error-free texts and help you improve your writing.

Grammarly will analyze your writing in Microsoft Word, WordPress, Google Documents, and Gmail just to mention a few. You can also download the Grammarly app Apple or Google Play Store and use it on your mobile device.

There is a paid version and a free version of Grammarly. Both versions work well to help you improve your web copies. The paid version starts at $29.95 per month. You may as well pay $144 to have access to the tool for the whole year or $60 for 4 months.

6. Linguix

Linguix is another writing assistant you may need to better your writing because it not only offers appropriate contexts but also suggests writing style and punctuation.

It provides explanation for common errors and tips to better how your content reads. The web app developed by Linguix features a secret mode which gives you the privacy you need while working on confidential or sensitive projects.


NOUNPLUS corrects your writing based on UK and US English. Apart from identifying spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, the tool can offer suggestions to help you improve the quality of your writing.

This online grammar checker tool doesn’t come with an extension, it doesn’t require a sign up option, and it’s free to use.

8. LanguageTool

LanguageTool supports 20 languages, including English, French and German. The tool has both free and paid plans, with the free plan limited only to the most essential features. You will pay from $4.92 to $19 per month for the premium, or you can pay a yearly or quarterly subscription costing $59 and $39 respectively.

The premium version offers a limit of up to 40,000 characters per check while with the free plan you get up to 20,000 characters per check.

You can integrate the tool with apps and platforms such as WordPress, Gmail, Microsoft Word, MS Outlook, and Google Docs. Within the application, you will find videos, suggestions, and articles that will level up your writing skills.

A premium plan subscriber will pay $20 a month, $79 a year, or have it for a lifetime at a one-time fee of $399 for a tool.

10. WhiteSmoke

WhiteSmoke will check on your grammar plus offer solutions to bring your writing to life. WhiteSmoke comes with a dictionary loaded with about 55 languages for translation purposes. Apart from using the software from your desktop computer, you can use it on you Android or iOS smartphone.

Unfortunately, WhiteSmoke does not offer a freemium version. Under the premium plan, we have the web, premium, and business plans.

The web plan will cost you $3.47 to $5 a month, the premium plan goes for $5.55 to $6.66 a month, and the business plan costs $8.82 to $11.5 a month.

11. Ginger

Ginger helps you proofread or write faster while checking for grammar, punctuation, and spelling mistakes. The software also comes with a dictionary of over 50 languages.

This tool can rephrase sentences and it can improve your English in no time, thanks to the personal trainer feature.
